Teaching and Learning Science

The recent trend in science education is a philosophy described as having learning that is deeper than broad. Thinking of science education as a body of water, either having it an inch deep and a mile wide, or an inch wide and a mile deep. What are your thoughts on this trend do you think it would be more beneficial to learn a little about  many topics or to explore a single science topic deeply?

    I think that we should study about one topic for a long time instead of studying alot of topics for a short time. That is what I think we should do.

    I would like to learn a decent amount of many things, so that I may, in high school and college, select the things I would like to learn about most.

    I think its better to learn many things instead of a lot about one thing because you could be able to do many other things and know a lot more.

    I think that if we finish the basics in what we need to know this year, we should choose what we want to go back to and think deeper into.

    I think that what you need is a tie between both of them, what you need is to have a lake that is half a mile wide and half a mile deep.
